A private page for every artist, encrypted end to end
Artists write in to get a statement sent again, or to ask where their advance stands. From a contract's page, Labelmate publishes a page where the artist finds their statements and their advance, and asks you questions. The key is in the link: our servers read nothing.

How it works
From the contract to the link the artist receives
- 1
Publish the page
On a contract's page, under Artist portal, Publish the page builds the artist's page: their issued statements as PDFs and where their advance stands. It is encrypted on your computer before it leaves.
- 2
Send the link
Copy the link, then send it to the artist from your own mailbox. Whoever has the link sees the page: send it to the artist alone.
- 3
The artist opens it
In their browser, with no account and no password. The key that opens the page is in their link, and never leaves their browser.
- 4
You keep it current
After each statement you issue, Update the page: the link stays the same. Take the page down closes it, at any time.
What the artist sees
Their statements, their advance, and a question box
Their statements
Every issued statement, with its period, the amount paid and its PDF to open.
Where their advance stands
What is still to recoup, then what they earned and what was recouped this period so far, as of the page's last update, which the page shows.
A question for the label
They type it on the page. It is encrypted in their browser, and only the label's app can read it.
No cookies
The page sets no cookies, measures nothing and is not indexed by search engines.
Their questions
Their questions land in your Requests
In Requests, Fetch the portal's questions collects the questions left on your artists' pages. Each one becomes a request about that artist, next to the emails waiting for an answer.
You answer from your own mailbox, as the page tells the artist, then mark the request Handled.
- Fetched on your click
- One request per question, tied to the artist
- The answer leaves from your mailbox

Encrypted end to end
Our servers carry the page without being able to read it
The page is encrypted on the label's computer (AES-256-GCM), under a key that travels only in the link, after the # sign. A browser never sends that part of a link to a server: neither this site nor our relay, which stores it in the European Union, can open the page.
A question takes the same road the other way: encrypted in the artist's browser, kept by the relay until the label's app has fetched it, then deleted. A page taken down is deleted from the relay.
The limits
Good to know
Whoever has the link sees the page
The link is the key. If it is forwarded, whoever receives it sees the page; if in doubt, take the page down: the link then leads nowhere.
Updated on your click
The page does not update itself: update it after each statement you issue. The link stays the same.
Not on the page yet
The contract's key dates are not shown yet, and Labelmate does not draft the email that goes with the link yet: you write it yourself.
Questions
Does the artist need an account?
No. They open the link in their browser, and that's it.
What if the artist loses their link?
Copy it again from their contract's page and send it again: while the page is published, the link stays the same.
Does the artist portal cost extra?
No. It is included in every plan.
